So its almost summer (summer doesn’t actually start until June 21st) and who doesn’t want new music for their iPod or mp3 player? Well here at LUCID we have a new artist that is sure to release some summer heat!
For the Trinidad and Tobago native, Aaron Fresh, summer 2010 is bound to be his. He already has two hit singles, “Dirty Girl” and “Spending All My Time”, is signed to major record label Def Jam Recordings, and is his mentor is none other than funny man Nick Cannon. This kid is only 17 and is already creating a huge buzz in the States and the Islands.
Raised in Chicago and Trinidad and Tobago Aaron Fresh gained an appreciation for both American R&B/Pop and West Indian reggae, calypso, and dub in which he incorporates in his music.
“No one has done a Caribbean dub voice mixed with American R&B. My music really portrays me as a person because I'm American but have a Caribbean background. I have no musical preference, I like everything as long as you can feel the vibe through your soul," says Aaron in an interview with Def Jam Recordings.
Splitting his time between Holy Cross College and recording his debut album, which is set to release in summer 2010, Aaron is working with super producers who’ve made major hits for The Pussycat Dolls and The Backstreet Boys, and is even penning some of his own tracks.
